San Francisco True Light Baptist Church

Church History

The English Ministry is an extension of San Francisco True Light Baptist Church for English-speaking believers and friends. We are fairly new in the making and development. But, we are convinced that God wants to use S.F. True Light Baptist Church to transform our community, to more intentionally engage the culture, and to leave a legacy for those that come after us. We believe that through this process, God has clarified the vision He has for us as a church, and we are committed to be faithful to His calling.

Our Mission	DEFINITION: Why we exist. What we do. Our purpose.

	Our mission is to XCEL at living out our commitment to:

	X – Christ Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character.

	C – Community Intentionally share our lives and spiritual journeys as we engage culture together.

	E – Engagement Deliberately live among, listen to, and love people, connecting them to the family of Christ.

	L – Legacy Reproduce the life and mission of Christ in the generations that follow us.

Our Core Values	CHRIST: A personal relationship with Jesus Christ is our foundation; gathering together to celebrate God is our privilege; the Bible is our guidebook; prayer and worship is our lifeline; personal transformation is our goal.

	COMMUNITY: We need each other and the world needs us. We desire to live in loving relationships with others who are committed to living on mission together.

	ENGAGEMENT: People need to see Jesus in us and we need to share Jesus’ love with them. Therefore we seek to have our individual lives, our communities and our church convey the understanding that people are valued for who they are and where they are welcome to join us on our spiritual journey.

	LEGACY: All of us are at different places in our spiritual journey. We all have a responsibility to take what Christ is doing in us and intentionally and passionately pass on Christ’s life and His mission to others.

It is with excitement, and dependency on God, that we look forward to all that He will do - in and through us – at S.F. True Light Baptist Church. We pray that the Lord would continue to give us all unity, insight and understanding into His purposes for us as a church body, and that we would be used by Him to greatly impact those around us, the Sunset District area, and the world for Christ.
